Education and Experience

Deana has a BS in Educational Ministry from Huntington College (2001). Upon graduation, she began working at Lutheran Health Network doing art and activities with Alzheimer's populations and Adult Addictions populations. "Much of my work presently at the hospital has grown into art therapy with patients." Deana was an artist in High School with an independent study in portraiture. Deana quit her art career after highschool graduation. Currently, she has been doing art again full-time from 2007 to the present. She now has her own art gallery and studio, giving lessons and making art pieces. Other areas of expertise are art quilts, matting and framing art.

Tree of Life opened its doors June 2013 in Roanoke, IN. There are other art galleries, eateries, shops, antiques, quilting, post office, gas, clothing and so much more to be browsed in Roanoke, Indiana. Most shops are open Wednesday or Thursdays through Saturdays. I am 7 min. away and can open the shop for you by calling 260-402-7951. Thank you for your business and for shopping small town.
My Vision
At age 8, my mom started taking me to art museums in Spain, France, Germany and the U.S. My excitement around art is coming from an appreciation of the magnificent art all around the world--both past and present.
The Creator's Creations have inspired and sparked so many imaginations in art for me.

Artist Statement
The Creator's Creation
My excitement around art is coming from an appreciation and study of the color and flow all around in creation. Discovering daily the shapes, forms, colors in creation and in art makes for imaginative creative expression. The gift of SEEING--put to paper or canvas is unique to each, like a fingerprint of the CREATOR.
Mediums and Surfaces
Using mediums and surfaces to paint--to express freely in free-form, free hand with FREE strokes, is then perfected down to the last wave of the brush hairs. Unrestrained movement of the CREATOR has given us lush subject matter that one can make uniquely thier's, in ART, if inclined. Freedom of imagination is given by the best of 'Imaginers" as a gift to each person in His Creation.
Enjoying doing art of the natural world, prophetic world, including many mediums, styles and sizes is done as encounter. Encountering Someone who walks alongside as Co-creator. This is a passion.
My Plans
I plan to continue making art to communicate beauty, vibration, and messages so that people can experience the anointing of the glory of God. I want to surrender to being a vessel that expresses the Creator's Creation, making connections with people. Manifesting ART Inventions for which people need to beautify their spaces and places of habitation is another one of my aims.
